Cleanup in the vacation paradise
Beach vacations in Bali are close to becoming an illustration of how bad things can get if no one takes care of the garbage. Indonesia's 17,000 islands are literally surrounded by a sea of garbage. It's now time to clean it up. The Indonesian government has set ambitious goals for addressing waste management and energy recovery. Denmark is providing assistance in terms of both a framework and technology. Together with Fortum, Babcock & Wilcox Vølund is developing Indonesia's first waste-to-energy plant.
