Our waste technology concept
The Vølund Waste Technology Concept builds on six key elements. These focus on our research & development and engineering activities – activities that will best benefit our customers, their customers, and the environment in general.
Waste flexibility- focuses on designs that meet local environmental requirements. This lets us adjust to the ever-changing properties of waste. After all, as packaging becomes more environmentally sound, our systems must be able to adjust accordingly.
Thermal design – depends on modularity and clean-combustion and boiler technology. Careful planning ensures that we recover the most possible energy from the fuel used – be it biomass or household waste.
Environmental focus – ensures that we minimize emissions by using advanced tools and technologies. As a result of our ongoing efforts, our installations now boast the lowest effluent emissions in the world.
Performance and efficiency – means that our installations are life-cycle optimized for the lowest environmental impact and the fastest ROI. After all, both are critical for business success and operational efficiency.
Availability engineering – is the key to high uptime and minimal maintenance. Through careful design of critical components, we minimize wear-and-tear on the system, enable cleaning-in-place (CIP), and provide a high degree of availability throughout the system.
Operation & maintenance design – focuses on the lowest possible operation and maintenance costs. The benefit? Easy daily supervision combined with low overhead – an unbeatable combination.
