Fasan: Babcock & Wilcox Vølund gain new order worth several hundred million DKK for extensions to I/S Fasan waste-to-energy plant, Næstved, DenmarkBabcock & Wilcox Vølund have signed a contract for supply of a new furnace line (line 4) for the waste-to-energy plant I/S FASAN in Næstved. I/S FASAN is a union of 14 municipalities from Southern Zealand who treats the waste from the municipalities partly by thermal treatment with heat supply to Næstved District Heating and with production of electricity to the grid, and partly by waste sorting and recycling, and finally by operation of dumps for depositing of residual products. I/S FASAN is an “old” client. Already in 1982 Vølund supplied the first two furnace lines to the waste-to-energy plant, and in 1991 Vølund supplied furnace line 3 along with rebuilding of one of the old lines to steam production.
The new furnace line has a capacity of 8 t/h and is to supply steam to an existing turbine. The plant is planned to be handed over to the client on 1 February 2006. The press release in Danish can be downloaded below: |
