Exhibitions, seminars and upcoming activities
POWER-GEN Europe
Together with our colleagues from The Babcock & Wilcox Company we participated in the annual POWER-GEN Europe conference and exhibition which this year was held in Milan, Italy, from 3–5 June 2008.
As the name indicates POWER-GEN Europe has participants from the power and energy sector all over Europe, and therefore this is a central place for our company to raise its profile. The conference and exhibition attracts more than 12,500 visitors per year.
Babcock & Wilcox Vølund’s booth had many visitors who showed great interest in our combustion technology.
We contributed with a paper named Combined Cycle Gasifier Plant.
During the course of POWER-GEN Europe the American Ambassador to Italy, Mr Ronald P. Spogli, also paid us a visit. The Ambassador had a talk with Mr Brandon C. Bethards (member of the board of directors of Babcock & Wilcox Vølund and President of Babcock & Wilcox Power Generation Group) about our many waste-to-energy projects in Europe and B&W’s increased focus on the European market.
IFAT 2008 and our customer seminars
Babcock & Wilcox Vølund also participated in the IFAT 2008 Fair Trade Conference in Munich from 5–9 May. Our booth was very well attended and the visitors especially showed great interest in our gasification technology and multi-fuel combustion technologies.
Babcock & Wilcox Vølund’s annual customer seminars in Denmark and Sweden were also very successful. The main topics this year were “Capacity Increase” and “Corrosion Protection”.
