Opening ceremony at Sundsvall Energi AB
200 guests celebrated Sundsvall Energi’s new waste-to-energy plant, Korstaverket, at the opening ceremony on 27 March 2007.
Babcock & Wilcox Vølund has supplied the boiler which has a capacity of 25 tons of waste an hour.
A few days later, on 31 March and 1 April 2007, Korstaverket held its first Open Days for the municipality of Sundsvall. An impressive number of inhabitants, 2500 people, were keen to see the plant and to get further knowledge about waste management, electricity, and heat production.
