Trial run at G.A.R.P., Linköping, one month ahead of schedule
Babcock & Wilcox Vølund started the trial run on 13 March 2007 - more than one month ahead of schedule.
Constructed in record time
The two new boiler lines of the G.A.R.P. project (Gärstad Area Rapid Plant renewal) have been constructed in record time. We had access to the furnace and boiler hall on 15 May 2006, and the boilers were pressure tested only four and a half months later in September 2006.
After completion of the remaining mechanical and electrical works, commissioning started with drying out of the refractory lining, boiler cleaning and steam blowing.
On 15th December 2006 the first waste combustion took place, and the plant has been in continuous, commercial operation since 23 December 2006.
Babcock & Wilcox Vølund is pleased with the progress of the G.A.R.P. project. Final takeover is expected to take place on 15 May 2007 - one month ahead of schedule.
