Successful boiler pressure testing at the plant in Trehørningen, Hamar, Norway
Our work at the new waste-to-energy plant in Trehørningen progresses according to schedule, and on 9 June 2010 we received certificate of approval for boiler pressure testing.
The plant, which is under construction in Trehørningen in Hamar, approx. 150 km north of Oslo, is equipped with a water-cooled BS-grate and a three-pass waste boiler with horizontal superheaters and a vertical economiser.
The waste-to-energy plant has a capacity of 10 tonnes per hour at 13 MJ/kg and is to be handed over to Eidsiva Bioenergi in 2011.
Installation of boiler walls at the waste-to-energy plant Meath, Ireland
Babcock & Wilcox Vølund is at the moment busy constructing the first municipal waste-to-energy plant in Duleek, Co. Meath in Ireland.
Installation of the steel sections was finished at the end of May 2010, and we are now working on installing the boiler. The next big milestone is pressure testing in October 2010.
The plant is to burn 200,000 tonnes of waste per year and supply 20,000 households in the area with energy.
The new plant is expected to be operational in 2011.

Test run at Sarcelles L1bis in France completed three weeks prior to schedule
On 25 June 2010, three weeks earlier than expected, we completed test run at Sarcelles L1bis in France.
The waste-to-energy plant in Sarcelles has two new lines of each 12 t/h.
