Strategic Cooperation with CTCI Corporation

We have signed a strategic cooperation agreement with CTCI Corporation of Taiwan for the company’s waste-to-energy technology.

The agreement between CTCI and Babcock & Wilcox Vølund is an important initiative in the waste-to-energy industry and marks the two companies’ commitment to serve the Asian region.

The agreement covers the Babcock & Wilcox Vølund waste-to-energy technology and CTCI’s plant EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) expertise. The two companies have together developed concepts to address the mounting waste problems and the search for solutions needed in many Asian countries.

CTCI Corporation, established in 1979 with the business history stretching back to 1959, is the largest engineering, procurement and construction company in Taiwan. CTCI has more than 3,500 employees worldwide, among which around 2,400 professional engineers are in the disciplines of process, piping, civil, electrical, instrumentation and equipment engineering. CTCI has been certified ISO 9001 since 1996. The comprehensive services include feasibility study, engineering design, global procurement, fabrication, construction, commissioning and maintenance, focusing in the fields of power, refineries, chemicals, petrochemicals, waste-to-energy, infrastructure, and environmental protection. CTCI has built a reputation and obtained admiration in the above industries. The marketing areas include Taiwan, China, Southeast Asia, Middle East, and USA.

“This strategic cooperation agreement with Babcock & Wilcox Vølund is a very important step for us and commemorates CTCI’s assurance to serve the industry and how important we see the role of the waste-to-energy sector in the region” says Mr. John H. Lin, President of CTCI Corporation.

Babcock & Wilcox Vølund's Managing Director Mr. John Veje Olesen says: "Babcock & Wilcox Vølund follow with interest the development in Asia. We have the know-how which is required to produce environmentally sound energy on basis of waste and with CTCI as a partner we are able to serve the Asian markets."

The agreement was effected on November 23, 2004.
