Success with service agreements
Babcock & Wilcox Vølund have once again established its position as a leading supplier of services to the waste-to-energy market.
Shortly after launching the concept in Sweden we made service agreements with three Swedish plants.
The purpose of the service agreement, which primarily focuses on preventive maintenance, is to ensure maximum efficiency and high availability of the plant. The agreement is worked out individually in close co-operation with the customer and in consideration of the requirements of the individual plant. A service agreement typically includes the following:
- An annual condition assessment
- General performance optimization
- Training of operational personnel
- Assistance for budgeting of maintenance costs
- Strategic spare parts
- Consultative assistance and technical support
- 24-hour service
- A discount on Babcock & Wilcox Vølund’s hourly rates
Individual service agreements with Swedish plants
The most recent service agreement comprises a complete annual condition assessment of all pressure parts combined with ultrasound testing, Inconel maintenance program, inspection of firing gear, grate and grate function. Furthermore, a number of systems and components critical to the operation are included.
Apart from preventive maintenance, the service agreement also includes process and performance optimization. In co-operation with our process engineers and commissioning experts, the operational managers go over the operational data and environmental reports as well as they analyse problems, if any, in order to achieve optimal combustion and maximum output.
