Trehørningen waste-to-energy plant opens in Norway
On Tuesday, 23 August, 2011, the waste-to-energy plant opened in Trehørningen near Hamar in Norway.
Over the course of the festive opening day, lunch was served in a party tent, and entertainment was provided by two musicians, an opera singer, a children's choir and a series of speakers. The plant was then officially inaugurated by Ola Borten Moe, the Norwegian Minister of Petroleum and Energy.
About the plant
Trehørningen Energisentral's new waste-to-energy plant has a capacity of 9 tonnes per hour at 13 MJ/kg.
