Waste-to-energy contract with Ekokem Oy in Finland
Babcock & Wilcox Vølund A/S has been awarded a contract with Ekokem Oy to supply the key equipment for a 36 MW waste-to-energy, combined heat and power plant in Riihimäki, Finland.
We are to design, manufacture, deliver and construct the waste-to-energy plant's heat recovery boiler using the patented DynaGrate® water-cooled combustion grate, burners, combustion air system, selective non-catalytic reduction system and other components. Engineering is underway, and the plant is scheduled for completion prior to commissioning in the autumn of 2013.
